The orchid Paphiopedilum Dark Angel is a hybrid in the Paphiopedilum genus. registered with the Royal Horticultural Society by Sanders[St Albans] in 1940. Registered parents are Paphiopedilum Chrysostom × Paphiopedilum Lucifer. The key influencing species of this hybrid are Paphiopedilum spicerianum (34.38% ) Paphiopedilum villosum var. boxallii (28.13% subgenus Paphiopedilum section: Paphiopedilum ) Paphiopedilum insigne (25.00% subgenus Paphiopedilum section: Paphiopedilum ) listed in order of their genetic contribution.
