The orchid Paphiopedilum Melrose is a hybrid in the Paphiopedilum genus. registered with the Royal Horticultural Society by Black & Flory in 1932. Registered parents are Paphiopedilum Alcibiades × Paphiopedilum Atlantis. The key influencing species of this hybrid are Paphiopedilum insigne (37.50% subgenus Paphiopedilum section: Paphiopedilum ) Paphiopedilum spicerianum (23.44% ) Paphiopedilum villosum var. boxallii (18.75% subgenus Paphiopedilum section: Paphiopedilum ) listed in order of their genetic contribution.
