The orchid Oncidium Nigella is a hybrid in the Oncidium genus. registered with the Royal Horticultural Society by Crawshay in 1916. Registered parents are Oncidium Charlesworthii × Oncidium Thwaitesii (1908) (syn Oncidium Thwaitesii). The key influencing species of this hybrid are Oncidium harryanum (50.00% subgenus Nevadensia ) Oncidium noezlianum (25.00% ) Oncidium alexandrae (12.50% ) listed in order of their genetic contribution.
