Vanda ustii, Golamco, Claustro & de Mesa 2000 (Kew)

Vanda ustii was once described as a variety of V. luzonica. But a closer look at the Vanda family tree, based on readings of DNA sequences in a recent article by L. Gardiner, M. Motes et al, would situate these two on either side of a massive tricolor complex, which includes V. suavis, still treated as a separate species for hybrid registration purposes although DNA markers place it well within V. tricolor.
